The American River College baseball team hit a low point to the young season falling to the Shasta College Knights 9-0 at home on Thursday. It was the first time the Beavers have been shut out since March 11th last year at Delta College. A.R.C. managed just two hits on the day, a first inning single by freshman SS Lane Field (Whitney) and a 9th inning double by sophomore LF Justin Hanlin (Whitney). Freshman RHP Justin Borchard (Woodland) got the first start of his career but it was a short one. He had a three up-three down 1st inning but gave up a pair of runs in the 2nd. The 3rd inning was a rough one as the Knights plated 6 runs, with a couple of seeing eye hits and some plays that the Beavers could have gotten outs on.
A.R.C. will face Feather River College tomorrow (Friday) at 1:00 p.m. at Beaver Field.
