The ARC Men's Water Polo team ventured to LA waters in a 3 day tournament expedition. The Beavers had their first match up against #1 state ranked LA Valley College Thursday 9/6. For the first time in a few years, ARC was able to remain competitive with the Southern California team. At the end of the first quarter, the score was 1-2, which is impressive. The final score was 11-3. The entirety of the Beavers team was able to get play time and improve against this formidable foe.
As the tournament continued, the Beavers had two more matches on Friday 9/7, and fell a bit short. However, on Saturday, AR was able to defeat two Southern California schools, each by 5 goals, with scoring from Michael Burgess, Ian Brady, Joshua Ford, Jake Bowers, and Keefe Pesko. The team watched game film Friday night in the hotel which provided more team bonding as well increased awareness in the pool on Saturday.
To summarize the weekend, the men's record now is 4-3. Looking ahead, they are hoping to take the experience to Sierra's pool for a first conference win. Come support us at Sierra on Wednesday 9/19 at 5:00 pm for one of AR's strongest water polo teams.
