Kayla Grubert leading the state in steals

Former Paradise High infielder Kayla Grubert is running all over the state — or so it might seem. The former Bobcats in enjoying her freshman season at American River College by having a big year on the base paths.

Going into yesterday's game against San Joaquin Delta, the speedy Grubert had swiped 36 bases on the season, which not only led the Big 8 Conference but the state.

Grubert has been moved to the outfield at ARC and is thriving. In 31 games she is hitting. 409 and has struck out just once in 110 at bats on the season.
