ARC's Viktoriya Lavor has been recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) as the Region 1 "Player to Watch"!
Formerly of Center High School, Lavor had an outstanding freshman season with ARC, helping lead the Beavers to a Big 8 Conference crown. Lavor followed her regular season success with a deep run in the state tournament. She beat Liz Aceves of Cerritos 6-2, 6-2 in the second round (after a first-round bye) before falling to Bailey Sindle of Ventura 6-2, 7-5. Also at state, Lavor and teammate Sophia Taber lost an epic second-round doubles battle with Samantha Moreto and Ellia Rosado of Riverside, 6-3, 7-6, 12-10.
"I am very proud of Viktoriya," said Coach Steve Dunmore. "She showed a tremendous work ethic and competitive fire all season long. The sky's the limit for Viktoriya because of her combination of talent and desire to be great."
