The women's water polo team opened their season on Friday hosting the annual River Rage Tournament. ARC had a very successful weekend, finishing 3-0. In addition to the successful weekend one of the best moments was welcoming Alumni to the tournament. The Alumni team was comprised of 14 alum plus the talented assistant coach from RCC. It was so fun to watch these young woman arrive with their new young families- with 5 babies on deck it was a joyous afternoon! Thank you ALUMNI for making a fun tournament that much better and showing the younger beavers how to do it!!
ARC 8 vs Riverside 7
American River College opened their season against So-Cal power house Riverside City College. This is ARC first win over RCC in close to a decade. Sophomore utility player Abby Fulton lead the team with a hat trick- 3 goals, 3 steals and 3 ejections drawn. Sophomore Miranda Williams anchored the defensive side with 5 steals from center, and adding a goal in the 3 quarter. Contributing to the goals count was Sophomore Kiara Green with 2 goals, one from a post up and the second from power play. Center Laura Heberle rounded out the 8 goals. Freshman goalie Ari Miggins had 7 blocks and 1 steal.
ARC 11 vs Alumni 5
Always a fun and spirited game, the current beavers were able to wear down the alumni beavers to take the lead in the 2nd quarter and never looked back. A fun game with scoring from freshman, Grace Johnson, Arie Wanous, and Chelsea Callahan. Goalie play was excellent at both ends and made for an exciting game!
ARC 13 vs Citrus 7
ARC jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first few minutes of the 1st quarter. Pushing the counter attack and taking advantage of turn overs the beavers were able to secure a comfortable lead. Laura Eberlee, Kiara Green and Abby Fulton were dominate in front court, scoring 11 of the 13 goals, with sophomore Hannah Torres finishing the scoring with 2 of her own goals. Ari Miggins had another strong performance in the goal with 8 blocks and 2 steals.
