BEAVERS GET WIN ON THE ROAD OVER SOLANO COLLEGE IN 10 INNINGS
It turned out to be a wild back and forth contest in Suisun City on Tuesday, with the Beavers using 9 pitchers in 10 innings to pull out an 8-7 victory to pull even at 3-3 on the season. The Beavers struck first by scoring in the third inning as freshman RF Brandon Pelechowicz (Yuba City) reached on a two-out error by the Falcons SS, allowing sophomore 1B Lance Sabatke (River City) to score. After sophomore RHP Ethan Palumbo (Antelope) completed a scoreless first three innings, the Falcons tied the game in the 4th with a run off of freshman RHP Zach Laduzinski (Whitney). ARC re-took the lead in the 5th inning as Sabatke singled in a run, followed by a run scoring triple to right center by Pelechowicz to put the Beavers up 3-1. Sophomore LF Jackson Nichols (Valley Christian) then doubled off the left field fence to score Pelechowicz. Solano fought back however, scoring in the bottom of the 5th to close the gap to two runs. Solano scored four runs in the 6th inning to take a 6-4 lead. It was looking grim for ARC, who weren't able to get much going on offense until the 9th off the Falcons closer. It started with sophomore C Eli Campbell (Cordova) lacing a single to left. He stole second and advanced to third as the throw sailed into centerfield. Sophomore SS Bryce Sabatke (River City) then singled in Campbell to make the score 6-5. After Lance Sabatke bunted his brother over to second, sophomore All-American Dylan Westbrook (Oak Ridge) singled up the middle to score Sabatke to tie the game. The game went into the 10th inning and sophomore 1B Jose Vega (Highlands) led off with a walk. He was bunted over to 2nd by sophomore C Grant Fletcher (Yuba City). Sophomore 3B Luke Haney (Oak Ridge) followed with a single to right but it was not able to bring home Vega. Haney stole second to put runners at 2nd and 3rd with one out. Eli Campbell then doubled down the 3B line for his third hit of the day putting the Beavers up 8-6. Freshmen Ethan Massi (Pleasant Grove) and Brandon Pelechowicz combined to close out the 10th, though the Falcons did score with two outs to make the game close.
The two teams will conclude their two-game series at Beaver Field at 2:00 on Thursday to end the 2026 version of the ARC/Solano Challenge.
