PELECHOWICZ K’S 10 AS BEAVERS EARN SPLIT WITH HARTNELL
American River College concluded their 4 game week with a pair of splits- a win and a loss against Solano College on Tuesday and Thursday and then a loss and a win on the road in Salinas against Hartnell College on Friday and Saturday. The Beavers did not play well on Friday against Hartnell as the team committed 4 errors, a season high in a 12-7 loss. Freshman RF Brandon Pelechowicz did have a good day at the plate however, going 3x4 with a single, a triple and a home run, the first of his college career.
On Saturday Pelechowicz did more damage with his arm, striking out 10 Panthers in 5 1/3 innings. The Beavers trailed 4-3 heading into the 8th inning before sophomore SS Bryce Sabatke (River City) singled up the middle to drive in two runs to put the Beavers up 5-4. Sophomore RHP Ethan Palumbo (Antelope) closed out the final three innings for his first win of the season.
The Beavers have just two games this week, Thursday at Beaver Field against the College of San Mateo and on Friday at Laney College in Oakland.
