BEAVERS DROP GAME 2/SERIES TO FOLSOM LAKE
American River College was hopeful that freshman Ayden Dringenberg (Oakmont) would hold the offense of Folsom Lake College down to give ARC a chance to even the series but between a little wildness, a couple of defensive miscues and some hot hitting by Folsom Lake, the Falcons were able to take game 2 at Folsom Lake 13-5. The Beavers threatened in the top of the first after SS Bryce Sabatke (River City) led off with a single, RF Brandon Pelechowicz (Yuba City) hit into a fielders choice. Pelechowicz eventually worked his way to third but was stranded there. Folsom Lake then scored three runs in the bottom of the first, 4 in the 2nd inning and 1 in the 3rd to go up 8-0. The Beavers answered back with 3 runs in the 4th, but Folsom Lake's offense was not done, scoring four runs in the 6th inning to put the game out of reach. The Beavers scored a pair in the top of the 8th inning on a Rylan Pope (McClatchy) single but that is as close as the Beavers would get.
ARC and Folsom Lake conclude their three game series on Friday at Beaver Field at 2:00 pm.
