Football's Season Comes to a Close After Semi-Final Loss

The American River College Football program saw their 2024 season come to a close after a 41-7 loss to College of San Mateo in the 3C2A State Playoffs semi-final.
The first half proved to be a defensive battle with both teams keeping each other off the scoreboard. However, San Mateo was able to score a touchdown late in the second quarter on a 2 yard run and convert a forced interception into a field goal to take a 10-0 lead into halftime.
The second half saw College of San Mateo score 31 points to pull away from the Beavers. Elias Brown was able to put the Beavers on the scoreboard with a 60 yard touchdown run, however San Mateo was able to maintain control of the momentum and move onto the NorCal Finals next week.
The 2024 American River College Football program finished the season 7-4 overall and 5-0 in conference play, securing the 5th straight NorCal Conference title for the Beavers. A myriad of Beavers were named to the 1st-Team All-NorCal Offense and Defensive teams, including freshman defensive lineman, Johnathan Correa, being name Defensive MVP and Coach Jon Osterhout being name NorCal Coach of the Year.
