The American River College men's track & field team opened up their NorCal title defense in dominating fashion by taking 1st place in the 16 of the 17 events. That is great news for the Beavers with colleges such as Sac City, Butte, San Mateo, Shasta, Marin and Yuba all in attendance. Winners included Andre Woodson in the 100m (10.85), Devan Sawyerr in the 200m (21.88), Robert Ellis in the 400m (48.04), David French in the 800m (1:54.98), Sean Gregg in the 1500m (4:05.40), Jason Morris in the 5000m (15:38.38), Cambron Lyles in the 110HH (15.44), Darren Myers in the 400 Hurdles (57.98), the 4x100m relay (41.41), the 4x400m relay (3:18.38), Edwin Matthews in the High Jump and Javelin(6'9" and 167'4"), Jeff Lam in the Pole Vault (13'5-1/4"), Shawn Simms in the Long Jump (22'8-1/4"), James Hubbard in the Discus and Hammer (153'11" and 185'4" respectively). The only event the Beavers did not win was the Shot Put.
