Beavers on the Hunt: Mobley Takes State Lead as Distance Crew Dominates Mike Fanelli Track Classic

At the 2026 Mike Fanelli Track Classic, the American River College men's distance team showcased impressive improvments in the 800m, 1500m, and 5000m events, highlighted by Cameron Mobley moving to #1 in the state for the 800m (1:52.40) and the 1500m (3:54.25). Cyrus Justiniani completed his first ever sub-15:00 5000m, running a time of 14:54.36 securing the State A mark in the event and positioning himself 6th in the state. Ty Ertel broke 2:00 in the 800m for the first time in his career (1:57.86), catapulting past his previous best of 2:00.86. Devin Pringle has been on a roll in the 1500m from the start of the season where he ran 4:12.36 to just this past weekend curshing yet another PR running 4:04.64. Another Beaver who has shown huge improvement in the event is Abel Martinez. Abel starting the season with a 4:18.38 and has now dipped up the 4:10 mark to run a personal best of 4:08.18. Kade Fernandes has been inching closer and closer to his first ever sub-2:00 800m, at Mike Fanelli he started day 1 off with a 6 second improvement in the 1500m (4:11.50) and was just short of going under two running (2:00.21) on day 2. Next competition for the Beavers will be the Chico Invitational, April 10-11.
