On October 29th, the ARC Beavers played the Modesto Junior College Pirates in Modesto. The 4-set match was an exciting showcase of grit and togetherness. Right off the bat, the Beavers focused on their side of the net primarily, not allowing the Pirates' level of play to affect their own level of play. The Beavs kept it simple, communicated clearly, and played confidently. They took the first set 25-18.

Energetically speaking, it felt like there was some disconnection within the collective in the second set. The gym was relatively empty and echoey, which, left unfilled, created an odd vibe. In between points, celebrations felt half-hearted. The Pirates served well; 6/7 of their servers maintained a 100% serving percentage. Staying engaged with the play, the Beavs kept the gap between the scores small, losing the set 21-25.

The third set started off with a lot of give and take from both teams. The scores reflected that, staying pretty close to tied. Serving runs from Gwendolyn Hansen and Mallory Kuehl were protected very well by the Beavs, carrying them from 12-10 to 22-12. Finishing 25-16, the Beavers went into the fourth set with a lot of momentum.

The fourth set began with a 2 to 3 point lead from the Pirates. About halfway through, the Beavers found some momentum and smart placements that brought them back into the lead. Adrienne Vite hit a whopping .833 (5 kills/6 attempts). A serving run from Addy Tagala took the Beavs into the endgame, and they finished 25-19.

Maddy Rossman (Ducky) with 17 digs, Maya Mishchuk with 14 digs, and Madeline Seaburry (Seabs) with 11 digs. Seabs' teammates recognized her hustle and willingness to hit the ground after the game.

8/10 Beavs got at least one assist, Hansen leading the offensive charge with 47 assists (112 attempts).

6/7 of servers served above an 80% throughout the match.

Jayda Moran hit an overall .517 with 17 kills. Cyana Mulitalo got 15 kills, Maya Mishchuk got 12 kills, and Adrienne Vite got 9 kills.
