Beavers Celebrate Sophomores in Last Home Game of Conference

Beavers Celebrate Sophomores in Last Home Game of Conference

On November 7th, the Beavers hosted the SRJC Bear Cubs for the last home game of the 2025 conference. The evening started with the celebration of the sophomores on each team, highlighting ARC Sophomore Athletes: Jayda Moran, Adrienne Vite, Mallory Keuhl, Josie Povey, Gwendolyn Hansen, and Lillie Miranda (in order from left to right in the photograph).

The Beavers started the first set off strong, with lots of confidence and energy. They passed well and got their middle and right side attacks established in the early game. They took the set 25-16.

Set two went quickly, energy flowing on the Beavs' side. They took the set 25-15.

In set three, the Bear Cubs maintained a small lead the entire time. Funnily, the Beavers didn't play like they were down and still felt confident. A lot of change happened on their side of the net, including moving one of their Sophomore right-sides, Povey, to play outside all-around. Hansen had a serving run that brought the Beavs back up to match the Bear Cubs. ARC played free, had fun, and lost the set 23-25.

Grateful for more play via a fourth set, the Beavers played hard and found a sort of homeostasis. After making some tempo changes in the assists department, the Beavs found a lot of success in their offense. Vite found great success in a repeatable tip-out to area 4, and Keuhl put up some brick-wall blocks. ARC took the match, finishing the fourth set 25-20.
