Gwen Hansen, Mallory Kuehl, and Jayda Moran Named All Big 8

Three sophomores from American River College's Women's Volleyball have been named All Conference Players. #6 Gwendolyn Hansen and #12 Mallory Kuehl were named 1st Team All Big 8, and #20 Jayda Moran was named 2nd Team All Big 8.

Gwen Hansen is ARC's 5'11 setter, finishing the season with 1,030 overall assists (3rd highest in 3C2A), and 10.20 assists per set (5th highest in 3C2A). She also had 232 digs (2.3 per set) for the season.

Hansen is the very first Big 8 Setter of the Year and she was named State Player of the Week in the second week of play; both being very big accomplishments. She is a very aggressive setter who takes full advantage of her height and physicality by running a 5-1. Her teammates have commented on her strong voice as a leader, her wit, calm energy, and positive attitude.

Mallory Kuehl is a 5'11 Middle Blocker at ARC. She totaled 168 kills (1.87 per set) for the season, hitting a .309 in conference play. She also got 29 service aces and 58 digs.

Kuehl can serve, play defense, block, set, and swing. She's a true utility player who can go with the flow and adapt quickly. Known this season as an overpass-kill queen, she made a lot of great plays for her team. She stays cool as a cucumber under pressure and can take a good rip at a ball. Her teammates love her big presence, quiet leadership, energy, and sense of humor.

Jayda Moran is a 6'1 Opposite Hitter at ARC. She got a total of 137 kills (2.04 per set) for the season, hitting a .318 in conference play. She really found her rhythm in the second half of Big 8 play, at one point hitting over .500 multiple matches in a row. Known for her big celebrations and long compliments, her teammates appreciate her energy, positivity, authenticity, and her attempts to get laughs out of those around her.

Huge congratulations to these three sophomore Beavs!
